User guide: from sign-up to registering a bot and setting fees
This guide is written so that even first-time visitors can follow along, using the exact button names you see on screen. There's no email or password sign-up: a single MetaMask wallet signature is both your sign-up and your login.
0. Before you start
- On a computer: Chrome, Brave or Edge plus the MetaMask browser extension (install it from metamask.io).
- On a phone: the MetaMask app from the App Store or Google Play. On a phone, open the site inside the MetaMask app’s built-in browser.
- A wallet (a brand-new one is fine). Signing in costs no gas, so you can sign up even with a zero balance.
Installing MetaMask for the first time? (expand)
- metamask.io → Download → add the extension to your browser.
- Choose ‘Create a new wallet’ → set a MetaMask password (it only unlocks MetaMask on this device).
- Write the 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase on paper in order, then enter it again at the confirmation step.
- Tip: pin MetaMask from the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of your browser so it's always handy.
1. Sign up (log in with MetaMask)
- 1Go to www.cryptotradercommunity.org. (On a phone: MetaMask app → browser icon at the bottom → enter the address.)
- 2Click Connect MetaMask at the top right. When the dialog opens, click Log in with MetaMask.
- 3In the MetaMask window, pick the account you want to use and approve ‘Connect’.
- 4If MetaMask asks to switch networks, approve it. The site uses the Hyperliquid (HyperEVM) network (chain ID 999); if MetaMask doesn’t have it yet, an ‘Add network’ request appears first. This network is only used to verify your signature, and switching to it doesn’t move any funds.
- 5When you see ‘Please sign the login message in MetaMask…’, click Sign in MetaMask. This signature doesn’t grant trading permission or approve any fees, and it costs no gas.
- 6Once your wallet address (e.g. 0x12…ab34) appears at the top right, you’re signed up. Click the address to open My page.
2. Register a bot (5 steps)
After logging in, go to Bots → Register bot, or My page → Register bot next to ‘Bots I registered’. The bot owner wallet is filled in automatically with the address you’re logged in with, and it’s shown publicly on the bot page. You can jump between steps freely with the step buttons (1–5) at the top; the server checks everything when you save on the last step.
Step 1 · Basics
Step 2 · Strategy & source code
- Trend Following — Follows the trend. Uses moving averages, breakouts and similar signals to go long in rising markets and short in falling ones.
- Grid — Splits a price range into levels and repeatedly buys low and sells high within it. Suits sideways markets.
- Martingale — Increases position size after a loss. Risk grows very quickly during a losing streak, so review is strict.
- TP Trading — Entries and exits built around take-profit targets.
- Arbitrage — Profits from price differences. Approved only after we confirm it can actually execute once latency and fees are accounted for.
- Copy trading — You trade on your own Hyperliquid account (your login wallet) and followers copy you. Every minute the platform mirrors your position changes in the listed markets into followers' accounts, scaled to each follower's allocation. Your fee applies to every copied order.
- Custom — Anything that doesn't fit the categories above. Please explain in detail how it works in the description.
Attaching source code (TradingView Pine Script and more)
- Click + Attach source code.
- Choose the language (Pine Script · Python · JavaScript · TypeScript · Other), then paste your code or load a file (.pine .txt .py .js .ts).
- For Pine Script, the version, indicator/strategy type, number of inputs and number of alerts are detected automatically.
- Choose who can see it. Private (default, recommended) means only you and the reviewing admins; Public means anyone can view it on the bot page.
Saving is refused if the code contains anything that looks like a private key, seed phrase or API key. The platform never runs attached code; it’s there for review and transparency. A Pine indicator() only produces signals and never places orders, so connecting it to automated trading takes a TradingView alert sent to the bot’s signal webhook (execution mode: External signal webhook).
Step 3 · Risk limits
The platform's server-side order gate enforces these limits on every bot order. They exist to protect subscribers, so set them accurately to match your strategy rather than padding them generously.
Step 4 · Execution & developer
Step 5 · Fees & consent
Use the slider to set your additional Builder Fee rate, from 0% up to the platform cap of 0.05%, in 0.001% steps. Right below the slider you’ll see the result calculated instantly as ‘○ USDC per 10,000 USDC filled’. For details, see 3. Fee settings.
Tick all three consents (terms of use · risk disclosure · performance display policy), then choose a button.
- Save draft — saves a draft (DRAFT) only you can see. You can edit it and submit it for review later.
- Save & submit for review — saves and sends the bot straight to admin review (SUBMITTED).
If something’s wrong, a red box lists the field and the reason (e.g. slug: 3–48 lowercase letters, digits and hyphens). Go back to that step, fix it and save again.
3. Fee (commission) settings in detail
Subscribers pay two kinds of fees
① Hyperliquid base trading fee — kept by the exchange (base tier: taker 0.045% / maker 0.015%). It is not income for bot owners or the platform.
② Additional Builder Fee — the rate you set with the slider in step 5 (Fees & consent) of bot registration. Every time an order placed by your bot is filled, filled amount × fee rate is added on top. This is the only source of income for bot owners and the platform, and only one is charged per order.
Examples by fee rate (per 10,000 USDC filled)
| Fee rate | Builder Fee | Bot owner's share (70%) |
|---|---|---|
| 0.01% | 1 USDC | 0.7 USDC |
| 0.025% | 2.5 USDC | 1.75 USDC |
| 0.05%Current cap | 5 USDC | 3.5 USDC |
Split example — subscribers fill 1,000,000 USDC in a month at a 0.03% fee rate
Total Builder Fee = 1,000,000 × 0.03% = 300 USDC (once confirmed)
| Bot owner (you) | 70% | 210 USDC |
| Platform (admin-managed pool) | 30% | 90 USDC |
These split ratios are the initial default policy. Policy changes never apply retroactively to past settlements.
Tips for choosing a fee rate
- Subscribers pay your fee on top of the exchange fee (up to 0.045%). The more often a strategy trades (1m/5m, grid), the more a low fee helps subscribers' returns.
- Strategies that trade rarely but aim for a bigger gain per trade (4h/1d trend following) can usually justify a somewhat higher fee.
- We recommend starting low and raising the fee once your live performance is verified (raising it requires subscriber re-consent).
Changing your fee after registration
- Bot page → Edit → change it in step 5 → Save changes. Changing only the fee does not trigger another review.
- Lowering: applies to existing subscribers immediately.
- Raising: existing subscribers move to ‘Re-consent required’, and your bot’s orders for each of them are blocked until they re-consent. Subscribers only ever pay the fee they agreed to.
- Subscribers also have to approve a Builder Fee cap by signing with their main wallet on the Trade screen, and the server rejects any order whose fee would exceed that approved cap.
4. Review, publishing and running your bot
5. Earnings and payouts
- 1When a subscriber’s bot order fills on Hyperliquid, the Builder Fee is recorded as ‘Observed’.
- 2Admins reconcile it against Hyperliquid’s Builder reward records and mark it ‘Confirmed’; your 70% share is then credited to your ledger.
- 3Check the confirmed amount under My page → ‘Unpaid bot earnings’.
- 4After admin approval, USDC is paid to the wallet you log in with (minimum 1 USDC). Automatic payouts come in Phase 2.
The platform never shows unconfirmed amounts as earnings. Performance and rankings are calculated only from fills of bot orders the platform actually placed, and bots with fewer than 20 closing fills or under 14 days of operation show ‘Not enough verified data’.
6. FAQ and troubleshooting
I see ‘MetaMask extension not detected’.
Install MetaMask and refresh the page. On a phone, open the site inside the MetaMask app's browser, not a regular browser (tapping the connect button takes you to the app).
I see ‘MetaMask has a pending request’.
Click the MetaMask icon at the top right of your browser, approve or reject the open request, then try again.
Does signing cost money? Can the platform take my funds?
The login signature costs no gas and grants no permissions. Your funds stay in your own Hyperliquid account, and the platform cannot withdraw them.
I can't see the bot registration screen.
If you’re not logged in, you’ll see ‘Registering a bot requires a wallet signature login’. Log in with Connect MetaMask at the top right, then open the page again.
I get an error when I click save.
The field name in the red box (e.g. risk.maxOrderUsd) tells you where the problem is. Common causes: slug format, a one-line summary under 10 characters, a description under 30 characters, max order size > max position size, risk-limit leverage > the max leverage from step 2, unchecked consents, or a slug that’s already taken.
Do I have to upload source code? Can others see my code?
It’s optional. With the default ‘Private’ setting, only you and the reviewing admins can see it, and the bot page shows just a summary such as the language and line count.
